Pictures of Andy Anderson's "Pilots for Christ Flight"
June 2, 2011
Post Op # 2, Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma at MD Anderson
Cheyenne, Pilot Tommy Lee (Pres. Pilots for Christ Alabama) and Jackson, AL officer
that opened gates at Jackson, AL Airport (4R3)
This event was so unusual that the officer's wife and child were there for the arrival.
Andy and 13 yr old daughter Katie, just after arrival at 4R3.
Andy had a Tracheotomy, Trumpet Drain from sinus cavity reconstruction, and J drain in leg from the harvesting of tissue and bone for the reconstruction of mouth and internal face. Still a bit unstable and suffering from double vision, MD Anderson sent him home with a walker....which he "parked" as soon as he got home!
Can you just see him trying to survive a Continental ERJ flight in this condition? Thank God he had the Pilots for Christ service!
Andy has authorized me to share these pictures for the purpose of helping the Pilots for Christ organizaiton and the maintenance on Tommy Lee's Cheyenne. Guess what they really need is a "Mechanic for Christ"!
Info for the Pilots for Christ organization that transports patients and helped Andy: (They do take donations)
